AMC Theatres, the largest cinema chain in the United States, is considering using Shiba Inu (SHIB) as a means of payment for gift card purchases. This was conveyed directly by Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Theaters via Twitter, on Friday (29/10/2021). The consideration is based on the poll he pinned in the tweet.

“As you know, you can now buy AMC gift cards using crypto. Our IT team is developing a system so you can use Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin and Litecoin someday. Do you agree that we accept Shiba Inu as well,” said Aron.

As of Saturday (30/10/2021) from the results of the poll, 79.7% of Twitter users agreed that Shiba Inu should be used as a crypto payment instrument on the AMC Theaters network. About 7.4% said the company didn’t need to.

Meanwhile, David Gokhshtein, a very active crypto activist on Twitter who is also the founder of Gokhshtein Media, agreed that SHIB should be included in the AMC Theaters system.

Shiba Inu in India

The popularity of SHIB also reached India. Media QZ said SHIB could be a major part of Diwali celebrations on November 4, 2021. This is based on the comments of a number of observers in the country.

This tradition with the precious yellow metal may be the other way around, when cryptocurrencies such as Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Bitcoin can be an alternative, reported by QZ media, Friday (10/29/2021). The price of SHIB itself jumped 1000% in just 30 days in October 2021.

“Slowly we are starting to see a shift in mentality among the 25-40 year olds towards crypto. There is a tendency that they will give crypto as a gift in the celebration of Dipavali later,” said Edul Pate, CEO of Mudrex in the United States.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) itself attracted the attention of the market and skyrocketed its market value. As of Thursday, it is the seventh largest cryptocurrency in the world (market cap: US$51.4 billion). One basis for the speculation is the hope that Robinhood in the US will sell it, in addition to last year’s DOGE.

NFT Craze in India

Over 400,000 people recently signed a petition on Change.org asking Robinhood to register the Shiba Inu, Dogecoin’s dog mascot, which is a parody of Bitcoin.

“Everyone wants to find the next big token,” said Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX in Mumbai.

Another reason for this craze of NFT in India, mainly promoted by Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Manish Malhotra.

NFTs will be launched soon by Bollywood superstars such as Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan. Bachchan’s NFTs will include autographed posters of his films, while Khan has been promoting the NFT launch on Twitter by telling his 43 million followers about it.
